Exedy Lightweight Racing Flywheel - 8 Bolt
Peace of Mind.
When upgrading to an Exedy performance race clutch resurfacing your old stock flywheel just won't cut the mustard. A brand new matching flywheel is a much better choice than resurfacing, as the flywheel will dictate how well your race clutch will perform, as well as how long it will last.
Engineered For Better Response.
Made from one piece solid billet chromoly steel forgings, Exedy Race Mustang Flywheels are specifically engineered to reduce weight and inertia for improved engine response. This Race Flywheel incorporates special design features to enhance air flow to improve the cooling of the clutch.
SFI Certified.
If you're using this flywheel in high performance or racing applications, SFI Certification is critical so you can run your Pony at the track or strip. And it's great for peace of mind even in a daily driver - at higher RPMs, stock cast flywheels have been known to explode.
Application.
This Exedy Racing Flywheel fits the 1999-Mid 2001 GT, 1996-2004 Cobra, 2003-2004 Mach 1, 2011-2014 GT, and 2007-2012 Shelby GT500 Mustangs with an eight bolt main. This is the perfect companion to your new Exedy Clutch.
Technical Note.
This Exedy flywheel has an 8 bolt main that is found in the 1999-mid 01 Mustang GT's with production date ending on 06/01, 1996-2004 Mustang Cobra's, 2003-2004 Mach 1's, 2011-2014 GT's and 2007-2012 Shelby GT500's.
Please Note.
Romeo built engines have 6 bolt cranks and Windsor built engines have 8 bolt cranks. If the 8th character in the VIN is an "X" its a Windsor block, if the 8th character in the VIN is a "W" it is a Romeo block. There is an exception to that rule as the 2001 Bullitt Edition Mustang feature a Romeo built engine. If unsure please check with your Ford dealer to determine if you have a 6 or an 8 bolt main.
